YAESU FTX-1 Field (10W)

We are excited to introduce the new All Mode HF/50/144/430MHz QRP Transceiver – FTX-1 Field.

The new FTX-1 Field is a portable transceiver that uses SDR technology and delivers 6W of output powerwith its 6400mAh lithium-ion battery (providing an operating time of 9 hours on HF bands in SSB mode and 8 hours on V/UHF bands in FM mode, based on a 6-6-48 duty cycle). Using an external DC power supply, it is possible to output up to 10W of power.

The FTX-1 Field offers wideband reception covering 30kHz to 174MHz and 400 to 470MHz, including SWL, FM broadcast, and air band.

The FTX-1 Field comes equipped with a high-capacity 6400mAh lithium-ion battery, facilitating portable operation.

By connecting the battery to the rear of the front panel, the FTX-1 Field provides 6W (5W for QRP) of stable RF power on all operating bands from HF to V/UHF in all modes: SSB, CW, AM, FM, and C4FM. The large battery capacity allows for 9 hours of HF operation at 6W, or 8 hours on UHF (6-6-48 duty cycle). The SBR-52LI battery can be recharged via a USB Type-C PD charger with a cable providing at least 45W / 15V 2A.

When connected to a 13.8V DC power supply, the maximum output power of the FTX-1 Field is 10W. Additionally, when powered externally, the front unit automatically charges the SBR-52LI battery.

By purchasing the optional SPA-1 unit and connecting it to the radio panel, the FTX-1 can operate at 100W (50W on V/UHF), making it an excellent choice for fixed station use.

Useful features across all HF/VHF/UHF bands:

• MAG (Memory Auto Grouping) for HF/VHF/UHF: Memory channels are automatically grouped and can be recalled by band groups. In M-GRP (My Group), any desired memory channel can be assigned, regardless of frequency.
• QMB (Quick Memory Bank) for HF/VHF/UHF: QMB stores the frequency, mode, transmit/receive settings, filters, and other parameters of the currently received signal. Up to 10 channels can be recalled with one touch of the [QMB] button.
• PMG (Primary Memory Group) for VHF/UHF: Up to 5 PMG channels can be stored and quickly monitored. In AUTO mode, all PMG channels are scanned, and up to two with active signals are received simultaneously. In MANUAL mode, the selected PMG channel is always monitored and heard, while the others are scanned and can also be received if active. PMG is useful for monitoring channels used by club members.
• AMS (Automatic Mode Select) for VHF/UHF: AMS automatically detects whether the received signal is digital C4FM or FM and sets the receiver accordingly. No manual switching required.
• Memory Channel Scope for HF/VHF/UHF: The reception status of up to 43 memory channels is shown as a bar graph. Transmit/receive channels can be selected by tapping the bar.

Additional standout features of the FTX-1 Field:

• Excellent close-signal handling, thanks to a powerful RF front-end with a 10-segment bandpass filter (BPF) for the amateur bands from HF to UHF and an RF amplifier with low noise figure (NF), providing excellent intermodulation performance. A high-purity 110.592 MHz oscillator delivers a high-quality sampling clock signal with excellent C/N (Carrier to Noise) characteristics to the A/D converter.
• SDR circuit design ensures outstanding reception performance, utilizing the same high-resolution A/D converter and FPGA as the FTDX10.
• Effective QRM rejection using a 32-bit high-speed DSP offering SHIFT, WIDTH, NOTCH, CONTOUR, APF (Audio Peak Filter), DNR (Digital Noise Reduction), and NB (Noise Blanker) functions.
• True Dual-Band Operation, including simultaneous C4FM/C4FM reception (HF/V, HF/U, V/U, U/V, V/V, U/U) – HF/HF not available.
• 3DSS (3D Spectrum Scope) with a high-resolution 4.3-inch color TFT touch display.
• Intuitive front panel design, with dual LEDs above the MAIN VFO to indicate MAIN/SUB band reception status, VMI (VFO Mode Indicator) showing the current operating mode (MAIN, SUB, or clarifier/split), and a FUNC (Function) dial for quick menu access and settings adjustment.
• Super-DX extends communication range – available on all bands and in all modes except C4FM.
• “PRESET” mode, ideal for FT8 operation.
• Two large front speakers provide high-quality and powerful audio.
• Aluminum die-cast chassis with multiple cooling slits ensures efficient heat dissipation and stable high-power output.
